The job was to introduce a new Rawlings line of activewear to the trade.
For the sales presentation kit, we made a custom pack of baseball cards (with gum, of course) and an autographed ball. I wrote a comprehensive book on marketing strategy,
merchandising recommendations, ideas for local promotion (including radio), publicity suggestions, co-op ad samples, product photos, the works.
The kit also served as a combination flip-chart/leave-behind that talked to regional and local retailers. I was told the kit led to more than
$20-million (inflation-adjusted) wholesale sales on the first pitch.
