Once upon a time, all ads for domestic beers showed people laughing,
all imported beers showed the bottle, and being the most expensive
beer was something of a liability. That figured, in a time when the few
domestic brands were well known and the aim was to establish personality,
while imported beers were starting almost from scratch.
