My work with Site Build It! websites results from my earlier relationship with SBI!'s publisher, SiteSell, Inc..

SBI! (Now called Solo Build It!) helped small entrepreneurs research and build their website, and also guided in writing and sending out newsletters broad site marketing. So although I'm mainly a writer, the siteowners themselves do much of those other things. My services on SBI! sites extended to marketing and usability advice, added features, technical services and editing. Just as important, I advised on how best to use all that without getting bogged down. Here are some of the SBI! sites I worked on.

 

Portugal-Villa-Holiday.com The owner came to me with two sites that were graphically attractive, but difficult to maintain and, in stark contrast to the SBI! way, they were totally unfriendly to search engines. I redesigned the sites by customizing an SBI! template, reorganized the content, and installed the sites using the blockbuilder approach. Then the siteowner was able to optimize them and update the content herself. SBI! This is one of the sites. The other is below.

FengShuiReallyWorks.com I was sorry to see this site go offline, but the owner moved on to other business interests. She wrote almost all the copy. I implemented various technical functions and added a number of innovations, including: • A page to follow the newsletter sign-up process, giving a follow-up offer that captured additional visitor data (principally their snail mail address) • The email fulfillment process for the above • A newsletter archive page that fully reflected the site's look and feel • A robust newsletter format • Newsletter draft storage system • Paypal order page • Custom newsletter order form on every page • Email setup • Personalized documentation for the above and for other functions

 

Buying-Used-Cars.com The siteowner had the site concept, experience in the auto field, and online marketing experience. But he had never built a site himself. After he did his brainstorming, I helped get him up to speed on site construction and coached in a variety of ways.

 

Business-Help-Now.com I advised this business-turnaround consultant on site architecture, content goals, and writing style, editing it for him initially. It helped him get up to speed with SBI! more quickly. The site's graphic design is based on an SBI! template from another provider. Now up and running, the siteowner has taken over most of the development duties himself.
